Create Your Account
Getting started with Velora takes just a few minutes. You’ll receive an invite link, create your account, and configure your site.
Accepting Your Invite
- Click the invite link you received from your team or the Velora team
- Choose your sign-in method:
- Continue with Google
- Continue with email
- If you choose email, you’ll receive a verification code to confirm your address
Onboarding
After signing in for the first time, you’ll complete a four-step onboarding process to set up your site.
Step 1: Site Details
Enter your account and site information:
- Account Name - Your organisation or business name
- Site Name - The name of your publication
- Site URL (optional) - Your website address (e.g.,
example.com)
The site URL helps Velora analyse your existing content to understand your style. If you don’t have a site yet, you can skip this.
Step 2: Writing Style
Configure how Velora learns your writing voice:
If you provided a site URL:
- Velora checks for a sitemap to find existing articles
- Select “Use site URL” to analyse your published content automatically
If you don’t have existing content:
- Provide URLs to 2-3 example articles that represent your desired style
- These can be from any publication you’d like to emulate
Velora analyses these articles to understand your tone, vocabulary, and structure. See What Are Skills to learn more about how this shapes your content.
Step 3: CMS Connection
Connect your content management system so Velora can publish articles directly:
- WordPress - Enter your site URL, username, and application password
- Sanity - Configuration is handled automatically if you’re using Sanity
You can skip this step and configure your CMS later in Settings.
See Connect Your CMS for detailed setup instructions.
Step 4: Processing
Velora analyses your site and generates your initial Skills:
- Audience Profile - Who your readers are and what they care about
- Writing Style - Your tone, voice, and vocabulary patterns
This takes a minute or two. Once complete, you’ll be taken to your dashboard. You can refine these Skills later as you use Velora.
Joining an Existing Site
If you’re invited to join an existing site (rather than setting up a new account):
- Click the invite link in your email
- Sign in or create your account
- You’ll automatically join the site without going through full onboarding
What’s Next
After completing onboarding:
- Connect your CMS if you skipped that step
- Add content sources to monitor your industry
- Create your first article to see Velora in action
