Newsletter

Velora can auto-generate newsletter drafts from your published content and send them to subscribers from your own domain. Available on Plus plans and above.

Getting Started

Before you can generate drafts, you need to configure two things:

  1. Newsletter feed URL — the RSS feed Velora pulls content from
  2. Custom domain (recommended) — so newsletters come from your domain, not a shared address

Both are configured in the newsletter settings (gear icon on the Newsletter page).

Configuring Your Newsletter

Click the gear icon next to “Generate Draft” to open settings.

Your Newsletter Tab

Feed URL — The RSS feed Velora uses to generate drafts. This is usually your site’s main feed (e.g., https://yoursite.com/rss.xml).

Logo — Appears in the email header. Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image (max 2MB).

Accent colour — The colour used for the divider line in your emails. Pick from presets or set a custom colour.

Author — Name and photo shown in the email byline.

Schedule — Select days of the week for automatic draft generation. Drafts are created for you to review and edit before sending — nothing goes out without your approval.

Email Delivery Tab

Send newsletters from your own domain instead of a shared Velora address.

  1. Enter your domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) and a sender name
  2. Click Set up — Velora registers the domain and shows DNS records
  3. Add the DNS records at your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.)
  4. DNS changes can take up to 30 minutes. Velora checks automatically every 5 minutes, or click Check now
  5. Once verified, you’ll see a green checkmark and your sending address (e.g., newsletter@send.yourdomain.com)

Creating a Draft

Click Generate Draft on the Newsletter page. Velora reads your feed, picks the latest articles, and creates a formatted email draft. You’ll see a toast notification when it’s ready.

If no new articles are found in your feed, the draft is skipped.

Editing and Sending

Click any draft in the list to open it.

  • Preview — See the formatted email as subscribers will receive it
  • Edit — Modify the subject line and body in the rich text editor
  • Send Test — Send a copy to your own email address to check how it looks
  • Send — Send to all subscribers (requires confirmation)

Once sent, the email status changes to Sent and can no longer be edited.

Subscribers

The Analytics tab shows your subscriber list with their email, status, and subscription date. You can search subscribers by email.

Subscriber statuses:

  • Active — receiving emails
  • Unconfirmed — signed up but hasn’t confirmed
  • Unsubscribed — opted out

Embedding a Subscribe Form

The Embed tab provides ready-to-copy code snippets you can add to your website:

  • HTML + JavaScript — works on any site
  • React — for Next.js, Remix, or other React apps

The form handles email validation and rate limiting (5 submissions per minute per visitor). It inherits your site’s styling — no extra CSS needed.
